Since the 2000s, Vale has created opportunities for students to participate in musical formations and develop their talents, in the states of Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Pará and Mato Grosso do Sul.
In 2019, a collaborative teaching and learning network was created between the musical projects of the four states and partner orchestras, which received the name Vale Music program.
Vale Music, which is part of the Vale Cultural Institute’s authorial programs, includes exchanges between students and teachers from the program’s training centers, classes with musicians from professional orchestras sponsored by Vale (Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Ouro Preto Orchestra and Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra) and artistic residencies.
Vale Music students participate in classes by suit, instrument masterclasses and workshops on orchestra formation and concert music. The program also creates opportunities for young musicians to participate in face-to-face qualifications with the orchestras, in addition to integrated presentations, where they experience the routine of professional musicians.

Inaugurated in September 2019, the Vale Music center in Brumadinho offers choral singing classes and wind and percussion instruments for students. The classes are taught by the Banda São Sebastião, traditional of the region, with participation also by the Ouro Preto Orchestra.
Created in 2004, the institution assists children from Corumbá and Ladário, in Mato Grosso do Sul, and from the Bolivian border towns of Puerto Suarez and Puerto Quijarro. Through Vale Música, Moinho Cultural offers participants not only a differentiated musical education, but also the chance to experience cultural exchanges and learn from some of the country’s greatest musicians.
Registrations for the projects that integrate the program are open every year. Students from the public school system or scholarship holders from private schools in predetermined regions in each location can register. No prior knowledge of music is required, and the formations are free.
