On March 11, students from the Futuro Maker project visited the Vale Service and Information Center in Itabira, as well as the decharacterization works of the Pontal System.
Twenty-two students from the project attended the visit, where they participated in an Interactive Trail to learn about the decharacterization processes of upstream structures within the Pontal System. The activity features scale models, LED components, and interactive materials designed to immerse participants in the process.
“The part that really caught my eye was, without a doubt, the scale model. I had never seen anything like it; I was impressed by the lighting effects, and, at that moment, I even felt transfixed while watching. I really enjoyed the experience.” — Ana Júlia Félix Marinho, Futuro Maker student.
At the Vale Operations Center, the students experienced the work on-site, guided by the lead engineer for the process. They saw firsthand how the company’s activities impact the neighborhoods where they live and the surrounding community.
